Project Overview: The project is the first water storage building in the urban section of the Lhasa River. It is a key water conservancy project for Lhasa to create a "beautiful home and happy Lhasa". It is currently a high altitude and long axis air shield dam project. The project and water ecological landscape adopt the sponge city construction requirements of "infiltration, retention, storage, purification, utilization, and drainage", and establish a sponge ecological corridor between the Lhasa River and the urban areas on both sides. After the completion of the project, the water storage during the dry season can form a wide green lake surface, maintain a good aquatic ecological environment, and attract more wild birds to inhabit. During the flood season, the gas shield dam will be lowered parallel to the riverbed, ensuring smooth flood discharge, promoting urban flood control projects, protecting and improving the urban water environment of Lhasa, scientifically restoring urban water ecology, and maintaining and creating urban water culture according to local conditions. The air shield dam provides a good foundation for improving the water ecological environment and landscape in the surrounding urban areas, accelerating the improvement of the urban flood control system and the construction of sponge cities, and enhancing the urban quality.
